"A edição 258 da Classic Rock (fevereiro/19) elaborou o Top 50 de álbuns de AOR em todos os tempos ao longo de quinze páginas corridas, exatamente da 63 à 77, em matéria conjuntamente assinada por Paul Elliott, Dave Ling, Jon Hotten e Siân Llewellyn e originalmente chamada "The 50 Greatest AOR Albums Of All Time", que pode ser lida aqui.
Em coincidência inusitada, as cinco últimas posições são plays auto-intitulados, ocorrências que se repetiriam ainda treze vezes e, desse total de dezoito, quinze são débuts (os de Cher, Heart e Michael Bolton são décimo oitavo, oitavo e terceiro trabalhos, respectivamente)! Separados por décadas: cinco registros são dos anos setenta; quatro dos noventa; e os quarenta e um restantes "do miolo" são oitentistas, época de ouro do estilo! O mais antigo e o mais novo? Ambos homônimos: Boston (76) e Unruly Child (92).
Ao menos três casos despertam uma curiosa sensação, dando um nó no cérebro, pois, com o estereótipo pop, é um tanto estranho vê-los ligados ao AOR: Richard Marx e o citado Michael Bolton, intérpretes das baladas melosas, e nem por isso menos interessantes, "Right Here Waiting" e "When A Man Loves A Woman"; e a também mencionada Cher, da dançante "Believe", seu maior hit.
